Project Manager 

As a project manager working with Maine Civil you will play a vital role in overseeing project performance and ensuring successful project delivery.

Some of the key responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Manage and oversee projects from conception to completion

  • Obtain permits and meet contractual obligations

  • Monitor project progress budgets, variations and monthly claims

  • Establish and maintain construction programs in line with project timelines.

  • Manage relationships with clients, sub-contractors and suppliers.

  • Uphold project quality, safety and environmental objectives.

  •  Estimating, tendering, quoting and project programming when necessary

The successful applicant will have the following skills and experience:

  • A degree in Civil Engineering

  • Previous experience in/with Estimating, Procurement, Land Development, Water Infrastructure, Landscaping and Client Relationships preferred. 

  • Good communication and problem-solving skills with “out of the box” thinking

  • Experience with Expert Estimator (Pronamics)

  • Knowledge of the Central Victoria region

Site Supervisor 

The role of a supervisor at Maine Civil is to oversee and manage the construction process, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget and to the required quality standards. You will coordinate and direct the activities of workers, subcontractors.

Some of the key responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Program works and monitor adherence to construction programs 

  • Provide good leadership and set a good example by encouraging a safe work environment and following OHS management plan directives, procedures and work instructions 

  • Complete daily, weekly and monthly OHS reports and documents

  • Coordinate material deliveries 

  • Ensure SWMS are complied with both internally and by sub contractors are complied with.

The successful applicant will have the following skills and experience:

  • Outstanding interpersonal, liaison and networking skills

  • Proficiency in reading plans/drawings and technical documents 

  • Construction supervisor experience 

  • Ability to work to deadlines

  • Planning and organisational skills

  • Leadership 

  • Team building and coaching

Pipelayer 

Maine Civil are looking for an experience pipe layer to join their crew.​

​Reporting to your site supervisor, your key duties will include but are not limited to:

  • Lay storm water pipes and drainage systems, ensuring accurate alignment and levels.

  • Operate laser levels to establish precise elevations and maintain optimal drainage flow.

  • Inspect and assess site conditions, identifying any potential issues or challenges.

  • Adhere to safety regulations and guidelines to maintain a secure work environment.

  • Monitor project progress and communicate effectively with team members and supervisors.

The successful applicant will have the following skills and experience:

  • Proven experience as a pipe layer in civil construction projects.

  • Strong knowledge of storm water pipes, drainage systems, and laser level operation.

  • Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications.

  • Excellent attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in alignment and levels.

  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.

  • Strong problem-solving abilities and the ability to work well under pressure.

  • A commitment to safety and the ability to adhere to relevant regulations.

Estimator 

The focus of your role will be estimating duties from the initial tender request right the way through to tender submissions. You will liaise and negotiate with subcontractors, suppliers, and clients.

Some of the key responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Prepare and submit accurate estimates for civil construction projects

  • Analyse project plans and specifications to determine the scope of work

  • Collaborate with Project Managers, Supervisors and Engineers to ensure project success

  • Maintain accurate records of all estimate and proposals

  • Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits as required

The successful applicant will have the following skills and experience:

  • Knowledge of civil construction  e.g. Earthworks, Drainage, Water & Sewer mains, Roads & remediation works.

  • Ability to complete required information during tender processes including construction programs and interpret detailed construction methodology.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

  • Able to prioritise work to tight often competing deadlines

  • Estimating experience is not essential, but attention to detail & knowledge of civil construction will be highly regarded

Excavator Operator 

We currently have a position available for an experienced excavator operator.

 Reporting to the Site Supervisor, your key duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Prepare and position plant for operation

  • Load and unload equipment as required

  • Excavate or scrape earth, rock or rubble to the correct level and alignment using GPS equipment

  • Monitor operation of plant and adjust accordingly

  • Work from drawings and markers for essential services (i.e. electrical, gas etc.), as directed by Supervisors and Engineers

  • Follow and ensure safe operating procedures at all times

​The successful applicant will have the following skills and experience:

  • Excavator licence

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience

  • Current driver's licence, white card, and own transport

  • GPS experience 

  • Strong commitment to safe work practices

  • Ability to work both autonomously and in a team environment

  • Capacity to work in all weather conditions

  • High level of personal work standards

  • Previous experience in civil construction  (preferred but not essential).

  • Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications.

Project Engineer 

Your role will be pivotal in supporting the Estimator and Project Manager throughout various project phases, including tendering, planning, delivery, and finalisation.

Some of the key responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Assist the Project Manager in the planning and implementation of multiple civil projects

  • Maintain a strong focus on Health & safety & ensure procedures are always implemented. 

  • Resolve technical issues on site. 

  • Overseeing the construction activities on site & supervise specialist sub-contractors 

  • Completing Quality Assurance - ITP's, method statements, etc. 

  • Maintain daily site records. 

  • Report to Senior management on projects progress

The successful applicant will have the following skills and experience:​

  • A degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent qualifications preferred but not essential 

  • Previous experience in/with Estimating, Procurement, Land Development, Water Infrastructure, Landscaping and Client Relationships preferred. 

  • Good communication skills and ability to work in a team environment 

  • Willingness to learn and be involved with all activities to ensure the successful delivery of projects
